Civilization Settlement Rules
These are the major rules universally set to govern how any settlements work. Since settlements and the creation of civilization is such a major part of the Avatar RP, these are made to keep anything revolving around civilization in check.
Firstly… Let’s define all of our terms that we use when referring to settlements.
- Civilization Rankings:
Village
Requirements: One zone with any amount of Construction Slots filled.
Mini-Nation
Requirements: Two connected zones (not diagonal) with all zones filled with all 6 Construction Slots.
Nation
Requirements: Four connected zones (not just by diagonal) and all slots must be filled with 6 Construction Slots used.
Mega-Nation
Requirements: Eight or more connected zones. (not just by diagonal) and eight zones or more must have 6/6 Construction Slots filled.
Now to get into some basic rules. Only one settlement / settled zone can exist per zone. They cannot overlap by any means.
Something can only be built, added, or upgraded when the person in question that is making it is in said zone where building will take place.
Each zone has an amount of build slots. That would be 6. Different structures take up different amount of build slots.
Similar to normal applications, settlements must be approved as well. Also, all settlements require land being shown somewhere on the zone in question. Thus, no villages floating in the middle of the sea.
The rules of any settlement are governed by the current leader. They will all be listed on the laws page of the settlement. Should a leader be killed, the next is chosen by whatever system the leader put in place beforehand. Or by other, more ruthless means. The next leader shall copy all the info from the settlement pages of before and repost them in his/her name to be capable of editing. Then, the prior will be deleted. If there was no system set before. Staff will move in and appoint someone.
Settlements are named by the founder. There is no renaming unless it raided/sieged by another force and captured fully. When this is done, the new leader will copy and repost the prior settlement post with the new name. The prior is then deleted. – Note – All names must be serious.
When preparing to build structures on a zone, one must prepare the zone as well. This requires 2,000 general talking about clearing land and flattening areas within the zone. No equipment is needed. This must also be approved.
For the sake of RP, citizens (that are NPC and don't do much except exist) appear in civilizations once housing has been established.
New characters can spawn on any zone that has non-damaged housing.
